A group of Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture employees visited Dalby Downs last Thursday to inspect the Burenda Angus & Brangus breeding herds and operations. Led by UQ organiser Malcom Wegener, the majority of the delegates were very interested in the feeding of cattle, machinery, feed types, leuceana, artificial insemination practices, nutrition and animal health. Numerous questions were asked and answered through the Indonesian translator Dr Geoff Woollams. The Burenda team put on a billy tea and damper smoko followed by a bus tour which gave a comprehensive view of the Burenda breeding and backgrounding operation with a good time had by all. On a lighter side they were most interested in the display put on by four non biting working dogs with the yards full of angus and brangus weaners.
